July 13th, 2012

0 The long haul OTR truck drivingPlease visit my website: http://www.drive-safely.net

A simple video, with simple facts about the over the road (OTR) truck driver. The truck driver is an integral part of society and the American economy, endures working conditions most Americans would never put up with, yet are often overlooked and stereotyped in negative ways. So next time you see a trucker, give him or her a friendly smile and a wave (using all fingers).

Watch Truck Driver Pushes Car Down Highway

July 7th, 2012

0 Watch Truck Driver Pushes Car Down HighwayAmazing footage of a truck careening at 60 mph along a British freeway with a car trapped sideways on its front bumper emerged Thursday, sparked an investigation.

Video shows a trucker thundering along the A1(M) major road in West Yorkshire, northern England, seemingly oblivious to the automobile trapped under its cab.

The large vehicle was filmed by another motorist for several seconds, with sparks flying from the blue Renault Clio trapped in front.

Haulage company Arclid Transport confirmed the video is not a hoax and that the lady driver in the Clio “got out and walked away.” A spokesman said an investigation was launched into the accident and police were informed.

West Yorkshire Police said officers were aware of the video and would be working with the company to establish the exact circumstances.

Big Rig Trucker Episode 2 : Accidents And Ambitions

June 13th, 2012

0 Big Rig Trucker Episode 2 : Accidents And AmbitionsFirst I would like to thank you for watching this video “Big Rig Trucker episode :2″ it means a lot to me. The video was captured about two months ago, I should have produced this earlier but got sick and lost my drive. I will work hard to produce this on a much more regular basis.

This episode captures one h3ll of a trip that Sean Sutherland and I had across I 90/ I 94. It was really trying for the both of us, Sean had a sever ear infection that started to bleed, I was at the time getting over a cold myself. During the trip I had multiple tire failures and breakdowns, coupled with the many near accidents we where able to avoid lets just say we where happy to see the trip completed at the end. However, I learned a lot along the way, even with the bad I would do it all over again!!

Some of you might have noticed I have been gone for a while now. I have been studying film production, spending most of my day studying actually and happy to do it, I am very excited about the art of visual story telling. Adobe cs3 has a lot of tools and I have a lot to learn, I promise you this tho my videos are going to get a lot better over the next year or so. I want to thank all of you for being here with me and caring even if the videos where not that great.

It has never really been a “dream” of mine to make a documentary about trucking(silly huh, as I do it in these videos). I personally think that the films about the trucking industry are complete bullshit. Seeing as I am a DRIVER with strong relationships with some really deep and interesting people I would love to take a chance at making a documentary about trucking with all the truckers I have meet here online. I strongly believe that it would be highly successful.

All you drivers here on youtube dig into my heart every time I watch your videos to me you are all STARS I want to share that with the WORLD. We have a strong community here and it is about time we clear our throats and yell out to the rest of the world. It is going to take some time and a lot of money to make this happen,(I have been saving the funds) but it will happen.

How this video was made:

This video was shot on two different cameras
Canon HV20 full res @24p cinemode and few different settings
JVC HD3U at 1440x1080I white balanced.

Cut/edit/mastered – Sony vegas pro 8.0
scored – Pro scores/ Sony Cinescore
Colored: Warmed up the colors, also a bit of over saturation and multi camera color match.

Here are my render settings:

Audio: 192 Kbps, 48,000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, WMA9.
Video: 23.976 fps, 1280×720, WMV V9 CBR Compression, Smoothness 90.
Use this setting for high-quality HD video playback from a local hard drive, and the youtubes.

Who says it has to be quick time to look good? WOOT, Hollywood!
