Truck Driving Jobs with PAM Transport – A New Driver’s Experience

January 26th, 2012

0 Truck Driving Jobs with PAM Transport A New Drivers Experiencehttp://www.greatcdltraining.com/?dnis=6150

Graduating from truck driving school is just the first step towards a lifelong career in trucking. And starting the first truck driving job is often where new truck drivers figure out if trucking is for them. Before she attended truck driving school, Driver Solutions graduate Nicole has tried a number of jobs. She was a cashier, construction worker, dog groomer, contractor, car wash attendant, and even hauled carnival rides. Remembering her desire to become a truck driver from age 16, Nicole enrolled in the Driver Solutions company-paid CDL training program and, after truck driving school, went to work for PAM Transport.

Now a year since her graduation date, Nicole loves her truck driver job with PAM. Company-paid CDL training gave her an opportunity to become a truck driver that she would not have had otherwise, and she’s very happy. Nicole says she enjoys her job as an over the road truck driver for PAM so much, she will be driving for the rest of her life. In fact, she said she’ll never quit, and we’ll have to “drag her out of this truck” because she wants to keep driving for many years to come. Nicole completed truck driving school in February 2011. Since then, she has gone over the road with a driver trainer, drove as a member of a team, and become a solo truck driver hauling loads from coast to coast. She balances her home life with two young daughters with her OTR life working for PAM Transport.

What do you think of these characters for a story?

January 20th, 2012

It’s about the characters not my story, so don’t say anything about the story. I have already written the plot, and I’ve thought of everything already. So my characters work with my story.
I just want to know if they are interesting, and worthy of being in a novel.

Jonzi, 25 – Newspaper Reporter.
[Straight brown hair, greenish blue eyes.]
Attire: Dress shirt (no tie) navy blue blazer with white hood, dress pants and shoes.
Power: Strength and can shoot energy spheres from his hands.
Personality: Reserved… but later on in the story becomes more out spoken and a leader.

Amy, 19 – Sophomore in College. (Austin’s older sister.)
[Wavy blonde hair, blue eyes.]
Attire: Sunday dress.
Power: Bullet proof, and can talk telepathically with her little brother Austin.
Personality: Honest and Humble.

Austin, 12 – 6th grader. (Amy’s little brother.)
[Blonde Faux hawk hair, green eyes.]
Attire: Green neon shirt, red wayfarer neon glasses, jeans, and red covers.
Power: Speed and can talk with his sister telepathically in a certain distance.
Personality: Cocky and cool, tries to act like "player".

Scott, 17 – High school Junior.
[Curly dark brown hair, gray eyes/ with a hint of green and blue in them.]
Attire: Red trucker hat, blue wayfarer neon glasses, white Tee-shirt, black skinny tie, red puffy vest, and rubber black and blue high-top sneakers.
Power: None
Personality: Also acts like a "player", but more like a D-bag, and was the basketball team captain.
I posted this before, but I didn’t get an answer about my characters it was mainly about my story.

I like all of the characters already. You have them written out in a simple but very descriptive way here so it’s like we know the characters already icon smile What do you think of these characters for a story? It would depend on the story plot mostly, but I say the characters sound intriguing enough to get my attention.

Can I start a trucking business with a tractor and having a driver perform the work?

January 20th, 2012

I am planning to buy a tractor (large size) to start a business as an owner operator. My plan is to hire a driver to do the work.

First, as a clarification, if you put a driver on your truck, you will not be an owner operator. An owner operator is just that — an owner who operates his truck.

Yes, you can do what you want to do, providing you have the funds and knowledge. There are many, many things you need to know. Are you planning or getting your own authority, or leasing the truck to carrier? Do you know about licensing (business and equipment), permits, taxes (payroll and other business), and insurance for starters? Do you enough capital?

These are just a few of the things you need to know. There are hundreds more.

You should check out some trucking forums, OOIDA (Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association), and the blog "How to Become an Owner Operator and Make Money in Trucking".

Good Luck!

Make Your Links Tell The Story: Blogging The Way Up

January 19th, 2012

When it comes search engines, google is still the king, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their lead,   in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, in plain English, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it becomes clear that linking campaign the old way is the thing of past, probably due to links crammed sites being thrown away by google.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they add your links to those linking websites without context, the only updates on those websites are the new links, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, the name link spamming are just for these sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.

Examples will be great for explanation. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I started with this keyword, Ratchet Load Binder, of course with old way of link building, almost all the sites I got link from had too many links, and those sites had only links, no real content at all. I would give credit where credit is due, this linking strategy worked, finally the rank improved a lot, this was the case until google made the change. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain puller , we promoted this keyword with articles and blog posts, not too many plain links have been built, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, when you create unique and quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, for instance let’s examine this one, top smartphones 2011 , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, the result? I got nice ranking for a few realy nice keywords now. Now you can see, article marketing with great content is the way to go. If you can build a group of your own blogs, for instance Transport Chain, then it will be easier to do article marketing.

Bottom line is that you should create great content, get people to enjoy and share your stuff, in the mean time advertise your business with your content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, long term strategy is required to improve anything of significance, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, now all we have to do is to give our love for creating and sharing quality content and not to worry about the ranking all the time. One of the best articles directories is EzineArticle, new article will be indexed within an hour if not minutes, of course your posts on some blogs will be indexed real fast as well, let look at some aticles or posts which are published and indexed, Grade 30 Chains, explains some interesting concepts, nice writing, good content, published on popular site, all these points make it perfect for SEO.

Last but not least, the social media is the must have channel for your marketing effort. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, set up API credentials in your twitter tools option, then every new post on your blog will show up in your twitter page, it’s easy and really useful, it’s a big loss if you don’t use this tool.
